WhatsApp for Workers
HR, right in the WhatsApp your people already use
Workers use WhatsApp to check in, request leave, ask HR questions and receive answers grounded in company policies, all in a channel they already use. HR manages the underlying records and workflows in RevoHR.
- No separate worker app or portal
- Attendance and leave start in WhatsApp
- Policy questions can be answered in the same chat
- Messages and answers can be delivered in the worker's language

The worker starts in WhatsApp, not in a separate HR portal
For many deskless roles, HR access has to begin on the phone the worker already uses.
RevoHR treats WhatsApp as the worker interface, not as a notification side-channel. The worker can start a process from the same chat instead of moving between paper, calls and separate systems.
This matters especially when corporate email and laptop access are not part of the role. HR still works from RevoHR, but the worker side of the process starts in a familiar channel.
Attendance starts with a message and records the event at that moment
The worker can tap or type the check-in action in WhatsApp. RevoHR then asks for the current location and records the check-in time together with the distance from the configured workplace.
This is point-in-time verification for the attendance event, not continuous GPS tracking throughout the day.

A leave request can be created in the same conversation
Workers can request leave directly in WhatsApp. RevoHR can respond with the relevant leave type, remaining balance, requested period and the confirmation step before the request is sent.
That means the worker is not just receiving a message. They are initiating a real HR process from the same conversation.

The result also comes back to the worker in WhatsApp
After the request is submitted, the worker can receive confirmation that it was sent and then the final approval status back in the same thread.
This keeps the process visible to the worker instead of disappearing into calls, paper or manual follow-up.

Managers can also act from WhatsApp
Managers do not have to rely only on separate approvals outside the messaging flow. RevoHR can send the manager the details of a leave request and let them approve or decline from WhatsApp.
This shortens the path between worker request and manager decision while keeping the request itself structured.

Workers can also ask HR questions and get grounded answers from company policies
The same WhatsApp conversation can also handle HR Q&A. Workers can ask practical questions, such as how to take annual leave or what the travel policy says about the per diem, and receive an answer grounded in company documents.
This expands the role of WhatsApp beyond transactions like attendance and leave. It becomes a practical access point for HR information that workers often need during the workday.

The answer can include practical policy detail, not just a yes or no
When useful, the reply can summarize the relevant operational detail from the policy instead of only pointing the worker to a PDF. That makes the answer more usable in the moment.
The reply reflects the document it was drawn from, so the worker reads the company's own policy rather than general HR advice. Wording and level of detail follow that source, which is why the same policy can be summarised differently depending on what was asked.

Built for HR access, not just messaging
The point is not to use WhatsApp as a generic communication tool. The point is to let workers initiate, follow and complete real HR processes in a channel they already use.
RevoHR then keeps the underlying records, approvals and history in the platform so HR and operations can work from one system.

Frequently asked questions
- Does a worker need a separate RevoHR app?
- No. The worker uses WhatsApp, which is already on their phone. There is no separate worker app to install and no HR portal to log into — each process starts in the chat they use every day.
- What can a worker do in WhatsApp?
- Check in and out of a shift, request leave and receive the decision, and ask questions about company policies. HR and managers work in the RevoHR web platform, where the resulting records are kept.
- Does RevoHR continuously track the worker's location?
- No. Location is recorded for the check-in and check-out events and compared with the configured workplace. It is point-in-time verification for the attendance event, not GPS tracking throughout the day.
- Can a leave request start and finish in WhatsApp?
- Yes. The worker asks for leave in the conversation and sees the relevant balance and dates before confirming. The request goes to the manager, and the decision comes back to the worker in the same chat.
- Can managers approve from WhatsApp too?
- Yes. A manager can receive a leave request and approve or decline it directly from the message, without opening the web platform.
- Where do the answers to policy questions come from?
- From the documents the company has uploaded to RevoHR. The reply summarises the relevant part of that material, so it reflects company policy rather than a generic HR knowledge base.
